Co founder of UCI Beckman Laser Institute & Medical Clinic, Michael Berns is a distinguished professor who has made numerous breakthroughs in the application of lasers in biomedical problems. Recipient of the UCI Medal, William B Mark Award, Vascular Birthmak Foundation Achievement Award, Lifetime Achievement Award from SPIE, and much more.
Dr. Linda Shi is the Project Scientist and Lab Coordinator at the Cellular Biophotonics Lab. She has been working at the UCSD Biophotonics Lab since 2004. Her current research interests mainly focus on the cellular or subcellular responses to the laser ablation and laser trapping through the collaborations with different research labs at UCSD, UCI, UCSF, Scripps Institutes and Salk Institute.
Dr. Veronica Gomez Godinez is an assistant project scientist whose focus is to use biophotonics to study the cellular responses to nearby cell death, DNA damage and shear stress.
